Initially, the crossover offered seating for five, and a 126-horsepower, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine powered it. In 1998, EX and LX trims became available, and in 1999, engine output rose to 146 horsepower. For the 2000 model year, an SE trim became available, as did a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine in 2002, one capable of 160 horsepower. The 2006 model year brought with it a 156-horsepower engine.

In 2007, an EX-L trim was offered, engine power rose to 166 horsepower, and a five-speed automatic transmission came standard. Other standard features ranged widely, from a tire-pressure monitoring system and a retractable center tray between the front seats to two covered storage containers and a folding, removable, dual-level cargo-area shelf. Options included a proprietary Real Time four-wheel-drive system (4WD), GPS navigation, a rearview camera, a six-disc CD changer, and more.

Skip ahead to 2022, and you could get a turbocharged 1.5-liter, in-line, four-cylinder engine capable of 190 horsepower, mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). All-wheel drive (AWD) was made optional, and features included the Honda Sensing suite of safety tech, alloy wheels, and an infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen. A power moonroof, LED fog lights, and push-button ignition were also offered.
